AUSCHWITZ - BIRKENAU

The concentration camp in Auschwitz was established by German Nazis on the outskirts of the town Oswiecim in 1940. After the war, the camp was turned into museum displaying evidence of the genocide. Block no. 11, known as the Death Block, was where people were murdered also at the “Wall of Death”. Outside the camp, there is a gas chamber, where 70,000 people were killed in 1940-1943. A film made after the liberation of the camp is shown in various language version in the museum. In 1941, 3 kilometres from Oswiecim, in the former village of Brzezinka, the German Nazis established a new camp called Auschwitz II Birkenau. In 1942-1945, approx. 1.5 million people lived and died here. Most of them (90%) were Jews, others were Poles, Gypsies, Russians and prisoners from 28 countries of Europe, people of all nationalities and political and religious persuasions. Since 1944, transports of prisoners from all over the continent entered directly through the “Gate of Death”. In 1979, Auschwitz – Birkenau Concentration Camp was listed a UNESCO World Culture and National Heritage Site.

JEWISH QUARTER WALK

Visit the best preserved Jewish district in Europe. Named Kazimierz after King Casimir the Great who founded it for his beloved Esther, it used to be a separate town. JOHN PAUL II ROUTE

On this tour you visit places closely related with the Pope’s life. In the Market Square of Wadowice, stands the Basilica of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Inside this church, in the Chapel of the Holy Family, stands the font where, on 20th May 1920, Karol Wojtyla, future Pope of the Roman Catholic Church who assumed the name of John Paul II, was baptized. We also go to see the Basilica and Culture and Landscape Complex of the Bernardine Monastery and Pilgrim’s Park in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska which has been a UNESCO World Culture and National Heritage Site since 2000. Kalwaria is well-known for its Passion mysteries and church festivities. You will also have an opportunity to see the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy in Lagiewniki which was established by Pope John Paul II during his stay in Poland in August 2002.

KRAKOW OUTSKIRTS TOUR

KRYNICA TOUR

Krynica is called a pearl of Polish spas. On the way to Krynica we stop to visit unique old apiary, where one can compare the way honey was produced in the past with the modern process. You see the open air Museum of Apiculture and bee yard in Kamienna. After presentation there is a chance to taste manufactured product or buy honey specialties in local shop.

NIEPOLOMICE TOUR

OJCOW NATIONAL PARK

Ojcow National Park (established in 1956) covers a small part of the Krakow Plateau in the valleys of two rivers: Pradnik and the Saspowka. It is counted among the Jurassic Landscape Parks and is intersected by the Eagles’ Nests Trail. There are around 400 caves and grottos in the park. On our tour you will discover wonders of nature such as famous Club of Hercules – peculiar rock form. You will also visit Pieskowa Skala Castle, the Chapel of St. Joseph the Craftsman and the ruins of the gothic castle in Ojcow. Castle in Pieskowa Skala is one of the most beautifully situated knightly castles in Poland. In its present form, the castle built high on a limestone rock, is a Renaissance construction. TOUR TO SLOVAKIA

Slovakia is a small country located between Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary and Ukraine. Because there is only approximately 100 km distance between Krakow and Polish border with Slovakia, we offer you a full day tour from Krakow to Slovakia which include some the most important tourist attractions of northern part of the country.

During our tour you will see Oravsky Castle – beautifully situated above Orava river on natural, high rock formation. You will also visit the interiors of the castle which were turned into museum. WIELICZKA SALT MINE

The Wieliczka Salt Mine is one of the most ancient mines in the world. It has been operating since the 13th century with no intermissions. In 1978 it was listed at UNESCO World Culture and National Heritage Site. The tourist route open for visitors connects three levels and reaches 135 meters under the surface. Besides the Tourist Route, the underground passages and chambers house the Krakow Salt-Works Museum, one of the largest mining-related museums in Europe.
