Description

Description

Start your trip in London at the Goring: possibly London’s most quintessentially British hotel, located in Belgravia and around the corner from Buckingham Palace. The Goring is still family owned, and has always maintained a traditionally English sense of service and quality.
After you have spend as long as you like exploring the historic capital, it will be time to step back in time to a bygone era of golden age travel and board the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express. Steeped in history, the train still has all of its original 1920’s features and so oozes the glamour and sophistication of the era. Guests can relax in their own beautifully appointed private cabin, by day it is set up as a lounge with sofa, footstool and table, in the evening it is transformed into a bedroom with upper and lower beds. Each has a small washbasin bathroom. Breakfast can be enjoyed in the privacy of your own cabin or in the restaurant carriage.

Dining on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express is an unforgettable experience, offering exquisite European cuisine and a fantastic list of wines to be enjoyed in sumptuous surroundings. The bar is a must – sip on champagne before dinner and a little digestif after dinner whist enjoying the pianist and listening to other travellers’ tales. Brunch, lunch, supper and afternoon tea are all served as you journey from the heart of London to the heart of Venice, a city once described as ‘undoubtedly the most beautiful city built by man’.

On arrival in Venice you will be escorted by private water taxi and taken to the sublime Hotel Cipriani. One of Venice’s most celebrated, the Hotel Cipriani has a commanding position across the Venetian lagoon on the tip of Giudecca Island with panoramic views across to Piazza San Marco and the lagoon and islands beyond. The Cipriani is the jewel in the crown of Belmond hotels (formerly Orient Express) boasting lush private gardens and a large Olympic sized heated outdoor pool as well as a tennis court. The city itself is a veritable treasure trove of art, architecture, fashion and culture with dozens of tiny trattorias into which you can duck for a mid afternoon glass of prosecco.
