Description

Description

European Voyages can arrange a stay for you in one of the top hotels in Paris. We’ll make sure you are located in the heart of the city within easy reach of the monuments and sights of this most beautiful of cities. The ‘City of Lights’ has a long and rich history going back to Roman times, and is to the day one of the leading cities for fashion, gastronomy, arts, and culture. Stroll along the banks of the river Seine, visit the Louvre, or wonder at the Cathedral of Notre Dame either under your own steam or in the company of one of our expert guides. As this itinerary is just a suggested outline we can tailor it to suit your needs: stay a little longer in the French capital if you like, or add a couple of nights in Champagne, enjoying the beauty of Northern France’s most famous vineyards.

Next, take a short flight to Catalonia for a stay in enchanting Barcelona. Here you can tour with one of our expert local guides and learn about the architectural, artistic and cultural history of this fascinating city. In the Gothic Quarter, picturesque medieval streets surround Barcelona’s magnificent cathedral. The other side of Catalonia Square, you’ll see broad boulevards and the captivating houses and churches designed by Gaudi. Then on Montjuic Hill and around the port, you will see the legacy of the 1992 Olympic Games, which played such a large part in making Barcelona the world city that it is today.

To get to Seville, we suggest a short flight, but if you have time, you might prefer to take the fast and comfortable train across the country and make a short stop in Spain’s capital, Madrid, before continuing to the South. Seville is the artistic and cultural capital of southern Spain, and Andalucia’s most important city. Seville is the home of not only tapas but also flamenco music and dancing, and has a rich cultural heritage. In the past it was a centre of Moorish, Christian and Jewish civilisation, and the centre of the city boasts a wealth of fascinating monuments and sights. For those with more time at their disposal, we could extend your stay in Southern Spain to include the cities of Granada and Cordoba, or a visit to a beach resort or a rural retreat.

When to travel
Spain has a Mediterranean climate, making it more or less a year round destination. In general you can usually rely on pleasant or hot temperatures from April to early November. In Andalucia there are plenty of warm, sunny days right through winter. The best time to visit is in the Spring and Autumn when the temperature is just perfect with warm sunny days. During July and August it can be very hot in the South of Spain and some days the temperature reaches 40°C.
