Itinerary

Daily Program: Guided

Day 1: Diocletian Palace and Split (up to 12 miles/20 km)
The tour starts in Split in the early afternoon hours, where we fit your bikes and explore Split on our bikes. Visitors to Split find themselves inexorably drawn to Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. What’s unique about this palace is that some locals have their real homes molded in the old walls. It is ironic to see old Croatian women stringing their laundry where previously state affairs of the entire Roman Empire were decided.

Split is a living and breathing urban oasis awash with a myriad of sights, sounds and smells, all thriving inside the two millennia old walls! We will take a short ride to test your bikes and warm-up your legs. Enjoy the rolling coastal ride before easy climb to the top of Marjan, from where you will have a splendid view on Diocletian’s Palace and all the islands you will be biking on the next few days. In the evening we will gather for an introductory meeting and a dinner. Meals included: dinner.
Overnight in Split.

Day 2: Exploring Island Brac (22 miles/35 km, with optional 25 miles/40 km extension)
Enjoy the morning ferry ride to Island Brac, located just in front of Split. You can choose from various riding options and distances, from easy 16 mile/25 km to a big 50 mile/80 km+ loop ride. We will show you coastal and inland roads and an art gallery displaying work from local stone carvers, fashion designers and painters. Brac is famous for its stone cutting and carving tradition. Some quite important world buildings were built with the stone from this island, including the White House in Washington D.C., the Parliament House in Budapest, and Diocletian’s palace in Split. In the late afternoon, you’ll take a ferry back to Split. Meals included: breakfast.
Overnight in Split.

Day 3: Lavender road and Island Hvar (16 miles/25 km-31 miles/50 km)
Welcome to Island Hvar! Warm-up your legs with the easy ride around the UNESCO site of Stari Grad, an ancient Greek colony dating back to 400 B.C. Besides historical sites, you will discover quiet and charming towns and roads where you will cycle next to private gardens and along the coast through olive groves.

For the afternoon bike ride, take the famous and most beautiful road along the lavender fields to the town of Hvar. Enjoy amazing views on the surrounding islands while descending to Hvar town. Spend the afternoon in Hvar and visit its main attractions: 7th century AD walls, Venetian loggia, and the oldest municipal theatre in Europe. Or just have a coffee or “bevanda” in one of the most beautiful squares of Mediterranean. Hvar is listed among world’s top 10 destinations; you must see for yourself why! We will have dinner together and taste some ancient yet innovative flavors from the Island Hvar.
Meals included: breakfast and dinner.
Overnight in Hvar.

Day 4: Island Korcula (up to 28 miles/45 km)
Today we take a boat to an ancient Greek colony dating back to the 4th century BC – Korcula. Famous for its white wines Posip, Rukatac, and Grk, Korcula’s beautiful old towns, villages and dark pine forests will charm you. You will have an option today to do a loop ride on the island or just relax and wander in Korcula. The Venetian fortified town is as irresistible to today’s visitor as it was to medieval travel writers like Marco Polo, who began his life journey in this town. You will bike through beautiful old towns, unique small villages and hidden coves. There are a few options today, either an easier ride along a coastal road or a more challenging option with some climbing and rolling hills. Meals included: breakfast.
Overnight in Korcula.

Day 5: Discovering Island Korcula (up to 37 miles/60 km)
Discover the whole Island Korcula. Its “Pomalo” laid back village lifestyle, vineyards, coastal roads, secluded beaches, charming towns are just some of the day’s memorable experiences. Meals included: breakfast and dinner.
Overnight in Korcula.

Day 6: Wine roads of Peljesac and Dubrovnik (12 miles/20 km – 37 miles/60 km)
Today we ride across Peninsula Peljesac, home of Croatia’s best known red wines Dingac and Postup, made from the Plavac Mali vines, close cousins to the Zinfandel of California. Enjoy the great views Peljesac offers of Mljet and Korcula island on your right and the mainland on your left. The ride today has a couple of hills, coastal rides, and a huge wine area where we will be biking. Your final bike destination is Ston, from where you will be transferred to Dubrovnik. Ston, a salt producing village on Peljesac Peninsula, was built in the 14th century and has with the longest fortified walls in Europe – 5.5 km.
